Minutes of the Business Meeting
January 21, 2004

The Board was represented by Piek Vossen (President) 
and Christiane Fellbaum (Vice President). 

1. Report on Past Activities
Several conferences and meetings on wordnets were held during 
the past year. For a list, see http://www.globalwordnet.org

2. Business Report
Piek Vossen reported on the financial status of the Association 
and the current number of members. 

3. Elections
The membership voted on four new board members: three general 
members and one secretary/treasurer. Nominations had been sent in 
prior to the meeting. There were nine candidates for general board 
member and two candidates for secretary/treasurer. 
The secret paper ballot vote resulted in the election of the following 
general board members for the next term: 

Eneko Agirre, University of the Basque Country (Spain) Antonietta Alonge, University of Perugia (Italy) Adam Pease, Articulate Software (USA)

Claudia Kunze, Tuebingen University (Germany)
was elected secretary/treasurer. All elected officers accepted. 

The past president (Vossen) became vice president, and the past 
vice president (Fellbaum) became president. 

4. GWA meeting 2006
Bids were invited for hosting the next GWA meeting in 2006. 
Interested institutions should refer to the guidelines, which can 
be found on the GWA website (http://www.globalwordnet.org/).
