1. Participation
There were 57 registered participants and some more persons attending the workshop. Christiane Fellbaum held a keynote speech entitled "Going global: Issues in the standardization of wordnets" which also served as introduction to the workshop contributions.
Two talks of the original programme were cancelled due to travel budget constraints for the respective participants. The keynote speaker of the afternoon session and co-chair of the workshop, Dimitris N. Christodoulakis, could not come to Las Palmas either at short notice so that the Introductory Speech of the afternoon session "Structures of Semantic Networks" had also to be cancelled.
Therefore the Programme was slightly revised. The workshop was chaired by Claudia Kunze, Lothar Lemnitzer and Karel Pala.

We had some fruitful discussions after the talks and at the end of each morning and afternoon session which were centered around:
Karel Pala and the Tübingen group will be co-operating w.r.t. the exchange and elaboration of their respecitve XML-versions of wordnets.
